Sleepward

Privacy Policy

About This Policy

This policy applies to the Sleepward iOS app (app.sleepward.ios). Developer: WeiXinyi Hu. Contact: kais_dev@163.com. Updated: October 22, 2026.

Local Records and Optional Sync

Schedule settings, rest records, route progress, Journey Coins, collections, and souvenir photos are stored on your device. When you use Sign in with Apple, the app receives your Apple user identifier and information returned with your authorization, such as your name, to distinguish local accounts. When sync is enabled, journeys and souvenir photos are stored through Apple CloudKit in the private database of the device's current iCloud account. This iCloud account may differ from the Apple account used to sign in to the app. Please check that you are using the intended account.

System Permissions

Screen Time permission is used to restrict apps or categories you select through the system picker. The app stores system-provided opaque selection tokens and rest restriction state locally; it does not upload usage details for the selected apps. Notifications and alarms provide reminders you set. Photo permission is used only when you choose to save souvenir images; the app does not read your existing photo library. You can manage permissions in system Settings.

The phone stillness feature reads device orientation only while its page is in the foreground, to determine whether the phone is resting. Sampling stops when you leave the page. Raw orientation samples are not uploaded, and this feature does not detect actual sleep.

Resource Downloads and Network Services

The app downloads public scene manifests, images, and other resources from assets.polyrig.dev over HTTPS, using services provided by Cloudflare. Download requests do not include Sleepward sign-in credentials, journey records, or restricted app selections. Network services do receive the IP address, request path, and protocol information needed to fulfill the request. Apple's privacy policy also applies to data processing by Sign in with Apple, CloudKit, and the App Store; Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to its network services. The app does not include advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, and does not use IDFA for cross-app advertising tracking.

One-Time Purchase

Journey Expansion is a non-consumable, one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple, with no automatic renewal. The app reads purchase entitlements to provide access and restore functionality; it does not access bank card numbers. Purchases, refunds, and transaction records retained by Apple are managed by the App Store.

Retention, Export, and Deletion

You can export records, pause sync, and sign out on the app's Account and Data page. In the newer version, Delete Account and Data removes that account's iCloud journeys, photos, local account records, related app-managed backups, and sign-in credentials. If the network fails, you can continue deletion; sync will not resume until deletion is complete. Clearing local data is a separate function and does not automatically delete cloud data. After deleting data, follow the app's instructions to stop using Sign in with Apple under system Settings → Apple Account → Sign in with Apple → Sleepward. The app does not claim to have revoked this authorization automatically. Users of older versions can delete cloud data through iCloud storage management in system Settings. Signing out, uninstalling the app, and revoking Sign in with Apple authorization do not each mean that all cloud records have been deleted. Manage exported files, photos saved to the system photo library, and system backups separately. Sign-in information is stored in this device's Keychain; uninstalling the app does not guarantee that Keychain data is cleared. Contact the support email if you need help. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or bank card details.

Usage analytics

With your consent, page visits, feature actions and their times, version, language, and a random installation identifier are sent to our self-hosted server in mainland China. Sleep duration, mood, photos, restricted app lists, and your Apple account are not sent.

Analytics helps us understand usage, conversion, and retention across onboarding, rest, morning records, memories, and purchases. Rest action times may reflect usage habits. Purchase analytics includes only a product identifier and a successful purchase event, with no payment details or transaction receipts.

OpenPanel runs on our server in Volcengine’s Guangzhou region, without using OpenPanel Cloud. Only authorized administrators have access. The collection endpoint does not store request IP addresses, device fingerprints, or geolocation.

You can turn this off and request deletion of analytics details at any time under Account & Data → Usage analytics. All features work normally if you decline.

Raw analytics events follow a 90-day retention policy and are removed automatically; linked aggregate data is also deleted when analytics is turned off. The offline queue is retained for up to 30 days and 1,000 events, and server backups follow a seven-day retention policy with daily cleanup. Turning analytics off clears unsent events and requests deletion of details linked to the current installation, continuing after reconnection. Revocation identifiers used to reject replays and aggregate counts that cannot be linked to individuals may remain.

Security and Your Choices

The app uses HTTPS, private iCloud databases, and the local Keychain to protect the relevant information. You can withdraw system permissions, pause sync, and stop using Sign in with Apple for Sleepward in your Apple account settings. Processing and retention by network services depend on their policies and actual configuration. We do not promise that network access never produces service logs.

Intended Users and Updates

Sleepward supports adults in building sleep and rest routines. It does not detect actual sleep onset or provide medical diagnosis or treatment. If you have questions about data processing, or if a guardian needs assistance, contact the support email. This page will be updated when features or processing practices change.
